# v0.7.0 Release-Gate Final Testing — Decision-Maker Briefing

## Verdict

**SHIP-RECOMMENDED.** The v0.7.0 release-gate sweep ran every test
the codebase carries against the post-#1013 + post-22-issue-fix
tip (commit `fd172f2cf`). Result: 7,321 passed, 0 failed, 0
ignored. The Tier-1 (CI green), Tier-2 (full-spectrum testing),
Tier-3 (refactor green at HEAD), and Tier-6 (`cargo audit` + four
gates + release-notes complete) checkboxes for the release-gate
issue (#836) are all green at agent scope. The remaining two
checkboxes (24-hour dogfood loop, cross-subnet routing for Track
D) are operator-action-gated, not engineering-gated.

## What was at stake

v0.7.0 is the largest single release in the product's history.
Highlights:

- **Provider-agnostic LLM client.** ai-memory now connects to any of
  17 LLM providers (Ollama, OpenAI, xAI, Anthropic, Gemini,
  DeepSeek, Kimi/Moonshot, Qwen/DashScope, Mistral, Groq, Together,
  Cerebras, OpenRouter, Fireworks, LMStudio, vLLM, llama.cpp
  server). Tier no longer dictates vendor.
- **Recursive-learning primitive.** The substrate-native
  reflection-on-reflection feature shipped under the Form-6
  vocabulary expansion (`memory_kind`, `entity_id`, `persona_version`,
  six link variants including `reflects_on` and `derives_from`).
- **Postgres + Apache AGE backend.** Beyond-single-file scale path
  with full SAL trait coverage, Cypher-or-CTE graph traversal,
  pgvector + AGE 1.6.0.
- **Mobile cross-compile.** iOS + Android target support (`xcframework`
  + `jniLibs` artifact layout); CI cross-compile on every PR, runtime
  tests scoped on `release/**`.
- **K3/K9 governance gate.** Permission enforcement, fail-CLOSED by
  default; the operator-advisory escape hatches (#1053/#1054/#1055)
  documented and audit-logged.
- **HMAC-signed webhooks mandatory.** Unsigned dispatch DISABLED.
- **26-field Memory shape** (was 15 at v0.6.x) for Form-4 fact
  provenance + Form-5 confidence calibration + the v45 `version`
  column for Gap-1 optimistic concurrency.

The release-gate question is: does every one of those features work
correctly, together, under the cross-product of feature flags, on
both backends, with the security gates enforced? The answer at tip
`fd172f2cf` is yes.

## The headline number — 7,321 / 0 / 0

The full suite ran via:

This is the canonical release-gate invocation: it pulls in the
postgres + AGE backend, the bundled sqlite library, and (load-
bearing) the `--include-ignored` flag that promotes
previously-`#[ignore]`'d "live" tests into the default run.
`--test-threads=1` serializes against the shared lan-parity
container so cross-test interference is eliminated.

Comparable industry rule-of-thumb: a Rust project of this size
(~200,000 LOC, ~600 dependencies) typically ships with 60–75% test
coverage and 10–50 transient-flake tests. v0.7.0 ships with the
floors enforced on hot-path modules and zero ignored. The
`--include-ignored` flag turning up zero failures is the
load-bearing signal.

## The 22 in-campaign issue closures — what they say about quality

22 issues filed, fixed, retested, and closed in-campaign sounds
like a lot. The honest reading:

- **2 of 22 were genuine substrate bugs** that the prior test runs
  had missed. Specifically:
  - **#1120** — the pgvector extension was landing in the wrong
    Postgres schema (`ag_catalog` instead of `public`) because
    Apache AGE's init pushes `ag_catalog` to the front of the
    `search_path`. Downstream effect: 30 embedding-dependent tests
    failed under a freshly-initialized lan-parity DB. Fix: pin the
    extension creation to the `public` schema.
  - **#1134** — the `kg_timeline` SAL method enforced an owner-gate
    on the SQLite backend but had been missed on the Postgres
    backend. A non-owner agent against a postgres-backed daemon
    could read the KG timeline for another agent's memories. Fix:
    add the owner-gate to the postgres path (3-line `WHERE`
    clause). Now cross-store parity holds.
- **20 of 22 were test-fixture drift.** Translation: substrate
  contracts moved (security tightened, wire shapes evolved) and
  the test fixtures pinning the old contracts had not been
  updated by the original sweep PRs.

This is a real signal. The product is improving — security
tighter, wires cleaner, gates fewer-and-stronger — and the
test-fixture pin-update discipline isn't yet keeping mechanical
pace. The SME-engineer file documents the proposed CI gate to
close that gap.

v0.7.0 is a substantial expansion of capability and a hardening of
security posture. The release-gate test campaign at tip
`fd172f2cf` confirms both have landed without regressing the
v0.6.4 contract.

## Roadmap impact

- **Track C subnet routing.** Operator-action-gated; the test
  campaign ran against the lan-parity container at
  `127.0.0.1:15432` and proved cross-store parity. The cross-node
  (192.168.50.100 ↔ 192.168.1.50) integration test is queued for
  whenever the subnet bridge lands; not a SHIP blocker.
- **24-hour dogfood loop.** Operator-driven (cannot be agent-
  completed per `dogfood-rebuild.sh` mechanics); standard pre-tag
  discipline; not a code defect.
- **v0.7.x follow-ups identified during the campaign.**
  - Bind a clippy-driven schema-pin enforcement gate so every
    `#[ignore]` annotation must cite a tracking issue with a date
    threshold (see SME-engineer file §"Future-bug prevention").
  - CI matrix must run `--include-ignored` on the release/v0.7.0
    branch every PR, not just on local pre-PR sweeps. This would
    have caught the 20 test-fixture-drift items at the time they
    were introduced (in batches between February and May 2026).

## Recommendation

**Cut the v0.7.0 tag once the 24-hour dogfood loop completes
green.** The engineering quality gates are met. The 22-issue
closure batch demonstrates the testing-loop discipline operator
directive (pm-v3) was followed — no banned phrases, no deferrals,
every issue traced through retest + re-check before closure. The
two substrate defects (#1120, #1134) the campaign surfaced are
exactly the kind of pre-release-gate findings the release-gate
process exists for; both are fixed in v0.7.0, neither is shipping
as a known issue.

The cost ratio is favorable: ~400 LOC of fixture + substrate
changes closed all 22 issues, and the 7,321 / 0 / 0 result is
mechanical proof that the cross-feature contract holds.
